Key Responsibilities
- Lead overall commercial strategy and execution for a multi-billion-dollar semiconductor EPC project
- Draft, review, and negotiate main EPC contracts, subcontracts, and consultancy agreements
- Lead contract negotiations with client, consultants, and key subcontractors
- Ensure all contracts are aligned with company risk profile and back-to-back obligations
- Provide authoritative interpretation of contract terms and advise project leadership on entitlements and obligations
- Establish and enforce robust contract administration processes in line with EPC standards (e.g., FIDIC)
- Manage all contractual correspondence, notices, and documentation to safeguard company position
- Act as primary commercial interface with client on all contractual and financial matters
- Lead high-level commercial discussions and negotiations on variations, claims, and dispute matters
- Build and maintain strong client relationships while protecting commercial interests
- Lead cost management including budgeting, forecasting, and financial control for the project
- Monitor project financial performance, cost trends, and cash flow to ensure profitability targets are achieved
- Drive cost optimization and value engineering initiatives
- Lead and manage all variation orders, claims, and change management processes
- Oversee preparation, submission, and negotiation of major claims (EOT, disruption, cost claims)
- Defend against client and subcontractor claims and manage dispute resolution processes
- Oversee quantity surveying functions including measurement, valuation, and cost verification
- Review and approve subcontractor procurement from a commercial and contractual standpoint
- Manage subcontract administration including progress claims, variations, and final accounts
- Identify and mitigate commercial and contractual risks across the project lifecycle
- Provide strategic commercial advice to Project Director and senior management
- Lead commercial reporting including cost reports, forecasts, and financial updates to stakeholders
- Support dispute resolution, arbitration, and final project close-out including settlement of final accounts
- Any ad-hoc duties as assigned.
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, Law, or related discipline
- 10–18 years of experience in commercial / contract management within EPC or large-scale construction projects
- Proven experience in mega projects (>$500M), preferably semiconductor, cleanroom, or high-tech facilities
- Strong experience dealing directly with major clients
- Deep knowledge of EPC contract structures and FIDIC or equivalent frameworks
- Demonstrated expertise in contract drafting, negotiation, and claims management
- Strong leadership experience managing commercial/QS teams
- Excellent negotiation, stakeholder management, and communication skills
- High level of commercial acumen with strong risk management capability
