Service Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Service Engineer – Valve Servicing to support the installation, maintenance, repair, testing, and calibration of industrial valves and actuators. The successful candidate will perform both workshop and on-site servicing activities to ensure reliable and safe operation of customer equipment across industries such as oil & gas, power generation, manufacturing, petrochemical, and process plants.

The role requires strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting capability, and a commitment to safety and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform servicing, overhaul, troubleshooting, and repair of various industrial valves including:
• Control valves
• On/off valves
• Safety relief valves
• Pneumatic and electric actuators
• Diagnose mechanical and operational faults and recommend corrective actions.
• Replace defective components and ensure equipment is restored to operational standards.

• Conduct pressure testing, leak testing, functional testing, and calibration of valves and actuators.
• Ensure all servicing activities comply with relevant industry standards and customer specifications.
• Utilize diagnostic tools and instruments to verify performance and reliability.

• Carry out field servicing, installation, assembly, and pre-commissioning activities at customer sites.
• Provide technical support during shutdowns, maintenance projects, and emergency breakdowns.
• Coordinate with customers and internal teams to complete service jobs efficiently.

• Prepare detailed service reports, inspection records, calibration certificates, and technical findings.
• Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and update service records.
• Provide feedback on recurring equipment issues and recommend improvements.

• Follow company HSE policies and site safety regulations at all times.
• Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Participate in toolbox meetings, risk assessments, and safety training programs.
• Maintain good housekeeping practices in workshop and field environments.

Requirements

• Diploma in:
• Mechanical Engineering
• Instrumentation Engineering
• Mechatronics
• Or related technical discipline

• Minimum 1–5 years of hands-on experience in:
• Valve servicing
• Valve automation
• Process instrumentation
• Industrial field service operations

• Good knowledge of:
• Industrial valve systems and actuators
• Mechanical assemblies and fluid systems
• Pressure testing and calibration procedures
• Ability to read technical drawings, P&IDs, and datasheets.
• Familiarity with workshop tools, measuring instruments, and diagnostic equipment.

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn.

• Willingness to travel on short notice for site assignments.
• Ability to work overtime or during plant shutdown periods when required.
• Possession of a valid Class 3 driving license is preferred.

• Experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, marine, or power industries.
• Knowledge of valve standards and certifications.
• Safety certifications or site safety training will be an advantage.
