Roles & Responsibilities
- To identify and assess any foreseeable risk arising from the workplace or work processes and rectify any unsafe practices or conditions
- Conduct daily workplace inspections and recommend such reasonably practicable measures to minimise the risk and such safe work procedures to control the risk
- To require the production of workplace records, certificates, notices and documents kept or required to be kept under the Act.
- Implement and monitor Workplace Safety and Health Management System (WSHMS) and ensure compliance with WSH Act and ISO standards
- Lead investigations of WSH incidents/accidents and prepare formal reports with root cause analysis and follow-up actions.
- Conduct incident and accident investigations, prepare comprehensive reports, and recommend corrective actions.
- Organize and deliver in-house WSH training, toolbox meetings, and safety briefings.
- Develop and review Risk Assessments (RA), Safe Work Procedures (SWP), and other safety documentation.
- Prepare monthly safety performance reports and dashboards for management review.
- To assess the levels of noise, illumination, heat or harmful or hazardous substances in the workplace and the exposure levels of persons at work therein;
- To work closely with the relevant authorities (e.g. Ministry of Manpower/Occupational Safety and Health Division) on Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) matters
- To generate and submit weekly inspection reports, warning letters, and monthly safety management slides
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols for all site activities, including lifting, excavation, and road works
- Registered WSH Officer with MOM
- Registered Fire Safety Manager with SCDF
- At least 4 years of work experience relevant to the work to be carried out by a WSH Officer. Experience in construction sites is must. HDB project experience is an added advantage
- Independent, detail-oriented and proactive in enforcing safety practices.
- Holders of Specialist Diploma in WSH (Level C), or Degree in Safety & Health related studies
- Good understanding of Workplace Safety and Health Act and its subsidiary legislations and other safety regulations from other Governmental authorities e.g. NEA, SCDF, BCA, HDB etc.
