Job Description
Editorial Assistant
Publication: ThinkChina
Key Responsibilities
Editorial & Content- Edit and proofread articles to ensure accuracy, clarity, grammar and adherence to editorial style guidelines.
- Work with editors, writers and translators to improve readability and overall quality of content.
- Write or refine headlines, captions, sub-heads and illustration notes where required.
- Conduct basic fact-checking and verification of information.
- Assist in the layout and dressing of articles on CUE prior to publication.
- Support the team in preparing and uploading content for digital publishing on the ThinkChina website.
- Coordinate with editors and production staff to ensure timely publication of articles.
- Provide basic translation support when required.
- Assist with video filming and related production tasks.
- Participate in editorial meetings and discussions, contributing to newsroom workflow and content planning.
- Excellent command of English, with strong writing and proofreading skills.
- Interest in China affairs, current events and international developments.
- Meticulous with strong attention to detail.
- Able to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced newsroom environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Prior experience in journalism, communications or media-related fields will be advantageous.
