Position Overview

The Assistant Retail Manager supports the Retail Manager in the day-to-day operations of the store, ensuring smooth business performance, excellent customer service, and achievement of sales targets. This role involves supervising staff, managing stock, and maintaining brand standards while fostering a positive and productive team environment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Store Operations
  • Assist in managing daily store activities to ensure smooth operations.
  • Oversee store opening, closing, and cash handling procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, operational guidelines, and health & safety regulations.
  1. Sales & Customer Service
  • Support the Retail Manager in achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, handle escalated customer queries and complaints effectively.
  • Train and guide staff to deliver high service standards.
  1. Team Supervision & Training
  • Assist in scheduling, supervising, and motivating retail staff.
  • Provide on-the-job training, coaching, and performance feedback.
  • Support in recruitment and onboarding of new team members.
  1. Inventory & Merchandising
  • Monitor stock levels, conduct regular stock counts, and liaise with the warehouse team for replenishment.
  • Ensure correct product display, pricing, and promotional setups in line with brand guidelines.
  • Minimize stock loss through proper security measures and loss prevention strategies.
  1. Reporting & Administration
  • Assist in preparing daily/weekly/monthly sales reports.
  • Monitor KPIs and recommend improvements to drive store performance.
  • Handle store administration tasks, including staff attendance records and operational paperwork.
Requirements
  • Diploma/Degree in Business, Retail Management, or related field (preferred).
  • 2–3 years of retail experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or assistant manager role.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to drive sales and manage store operations.
  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Willing to work on weekends, public holidays, and shift schedules.
