Site engineer

Job Description

This position is mainly responsible for on-site construction supervision, engineering coordination, progress monitoring, quality verification, and testing/inspection support for semiconductor facility engineering projects.

The scope of work includes civil construction stages, M&E installation, instrumentation and control wiring, signal cable installation, control panel installation, PLC / SCADA / GMS system testing, and project handover activities.

The role is primarily responsible for ensuring contractors’ works comply with drawings, specifications, project schedules, and project requirements, while supporting the engineering team in site management and project delivery.

1. Supervise on-site construction activities, monitor work progress, and ensure quality compliance.
2. Coordinate work arrangements among clients, main contractors, subcontractors, and site personnel.
3. Ensure site works are carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
4. Conduct daily site inspections to monitor manpower attendance, construction progress, material deliveries, and site conditions.
5. Assist in site measurements, inspections, testing, defect tracking, and project completion verification.
6. Prepare daily site reports, photo records, and progress updates in accordance with company and client requirements.
7. Perform any other site supervision, coordination, and follow-up duties assigned by management.

1. Candidates with experience in site management, construction supervision, engineering coordination, or project execution are preferred.
2. Basic knowledge of M&E systems, instrumentation and control, ELV systems, communication systems, PLC / SCADA, GMS, or facility systems is an advantage.
3. Ability to understand basic construction drawings, single-line diagrams, control wiring diagrams, and I/O Lists is preferred.
4. Able to supervise contractors in site installation, cable pulling, cable checking, testing, system commissioning, and defect rectification works.
5. Good communication and coordination skills to liaise with clients, main contractors, subcontractors, and site teams.
6. Positive working attitude, responsible, and proactive in tracking site issues, project progress, and defect rectification status.
7. Familiar with Microsoft Office, Excel, photo documentation, and site reporting preparation is preferred.
8. Candidates with experience in Singapore construction sites, semiconductor plants, cleanroom environments, facility systems, or M&E / instrumentation projects will have an added advantage.

Certifications & Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with any of the following certifications, training, or relevant experience will have an advantage:

1. Electrical licenses or certifications related to electrical engineering, instrumentation, ELV systems, or communication cabling.
2. Singapore Licensed Electrical Worker (LEW), or relevant Electrical Technician / Electrical Engineer qualifications.
3. Experience with GMS, Gas Detector systems, 4–20mA signals, Modbus, Ethernet/IP, OPC, or SCADA systems is highly preferred.

Nature of Work

This role mainly focuses on site supervision, engineering coordination, progress tracking, quality verification, defect rectification follow-up, and testing/inspection support.

Candidates should possess basic engineering judgment to ensure contractors’ works comply with drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
