Regional Product Specialist, Transformer, East Asia

Job Summary

The Regional Product Specialist, Transformer, is responsible for delivering technical expertise and support for transformer products, including oil-immersed and dry-type transformers. This role acts as a critical interface between project management teams and factory, ensuring the successful deployment, operation, and maintenance of transformer systems in compliance with international standards.

• Interpret and apply international standards such as IEC 60076 and EU 548 to ensure compliance in transformer design and application.
• Provide on-site and remote technical support for transformer installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Coordinate with the project execution team to proactively identify project risks, implement mitigation strategies, and support both the factory and customer during Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).
• Ensure on-time manufacturing and delivery of transformers in alignment with customer deadlines.
• Support technical discussions with the sales team to understand project requirements and propose suitable transformer solutions.
• Explain transformer specifications including vector groups, impedance, insulation class, and cooling methods (e.g., oil-immersed vs. dry-type).
• Prepare technical documentation and tender compliance materials to support quotation and bidding processes.
• Collaborate proactively with product management team and factory teams to ensure transformer designs meet evolving market requirements.

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in engineering in Electrical, Automation ore related subjects.

• Experience with electrical distribution systems (MV/LV) and protection systems.
• 5+ years related experience in Transformer Technical proposing.
• Have knowledge of the Transformer market and the competitors’ offer;
• Knowledge of applicable IEC standards.
• Ability to respond to a variety of challenging circumstances
• Significant experience utilizing Value Added Selling techniques
• Ability to work well within a team
