Technical Specialist
The Technical Specialist (TS) provides essential technical and operational support to assigned Sales Specialists and territories, ensuring customer expectations are met before, during, and after orthopaedic surgical procedures. Reporting to the Technical Supervisor, the role requires close coordination with internal stakeholders including Sales, Customer Service, and Logistics (distribution, warehousing, and delivery).The TS is responsible for the management, readiness, and accountability of all instrumentation, implants, and workshop materials within the assigned territory.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical support to surgeons and operating theatre staff during orthopaedic procedures.
- Ensure all surgical instrumentation is complete, properly sterilised, and securely packed before and after surgery.
- Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of the company’s orthopaedic product portfolio and instrumentation to effectively support surgeons and nursing staff.
- Support Sales personnel during product in-services for nurses and doctors, as well as participate in exhibitions and events on weekdays or weekends when required.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all company information, including pricing, product specifications, and internal documentation.
- Assist Sales personnel with inventory management across all product portfolios.
- Perform timely replenishment of consignment implants and ensure consignment sets are complete at all times.
- Be available for mobilisation during on-call duties for assigned surgical cases.
- Provide surgical support during weekends when required.
- Ensure presence in the operating theatre at least 15 minutes prior to scheduled surgery.
- Relay feedback, including complaints, competitive activity, and suggestions from surgeons and nurses, to Sales personnel.
- Assist with cataloguing, documentation, and administrative tasks as required.
- Support bi-annual stock-taking exercises to ensure inventory accuracy.
