Job Duties:
Primary Responsibilities:
- Sales Strategy Support: Assist in executing sales strategies to meet assigned targets and KPIs.
- Customer Development: Identify potential new customers and support efforts to expand the customer base.
- Technical Sales Support: Deliver product presentations, assist with sales negotiations, and support deal closure.
- Customer Enquiries & Proposals: Prepare quotations and proposals tailored to customer needs.
- Market Awareness: Monitor competitor activities, pricing trends, and industry developments.
- Relationship Building: Engage with customers and help maintain long-term business relationships.
- Complaint Handling: Coordinate with QA and customer service teams to address and resolve issues.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Internal Collaboration: Work closely with product and engineering teams to understand offerings and deliver solutions.
- Sales Reporting: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and pipeline updates.
- Travel: Willingness to travel regionally or internationally for customer visits and trade shows.
- Continuous Learning: Stay updated on optics technologies and industry advancements.
- Additional Responsibilities: Take on other relevant duties as assigned by management to support team and company objective.
Experience:
- Prior experience in technical sales, pre-sales, or engineering-related customer-facing roles.
- 1 to 3 years of experience in technical sales, pre-sales, or customer-facing engineering roles.
- Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, with a customer-focused mindset.
- Customer-focused with an ability to understand basic technical requirements.
- Experience in optics, engineering, or manufacturing sectors is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Self-motivated and results-driven.
- Experience in a factory or production environment is advantageous.
- Familiarity with market research and the ability to analyse customer needs and translate them into product solutions.
- Able to work independently, with a strong drive to achieve sales targets.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Engineering or a related field (e.g., Mechanical, Optical)
- Experience in industry sales is preferred; experience in precision optics is an advantage.
- Fluency in English and Mandarin (spoken and written) to liaise with customers and internal teams across Asia, Europe, and the US.
- A background in engineering is preferred, particularly with knowledge of optics or related technologies.
Other Requirements:
- Willingness to work across multiple time zones (Asia, Europe, USA).
- Overseas travel may be required for customer engagements or exhibitions.
