This position is for Lee Kong Chian School of Business (LKCSB).
- Academic & Programme Management
- Lead and oversee end-to-end management of programmes, ensuring a seamless execution, exceptional service delivery and excellent student experience.
- Work with the admissions team to develop and implement recruitment strategies to meet application, admission and enrolment targets.
- Provide strategic guidance and support faculty members on academic matters, including exam administration, grading processes and student assessments to ensure a seamless academic experience.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive repository of course materials, academic policies and student portal updates.
- Manage course registration, scheduling and evaluations, ensuring adherence to academic policies and deadlines.
- Ensure compliance with institutional and regulatory requirements, including student records management.
- Student & Alumni Engagement
- Serve as the primary point of contact for students, ensuring a high touch service
- Proactively troubleshoot and provide immediate solutions to help students navigate internal systems, processes and procedures
- Oversee the planning of student events
- Maintain and leverage student and alumni databases for relationship management and long-term engagement
- Accreditation & Academic Review
- Lead efforts in programme accreditation and reviews,
- Establish a data-driven feedback mechanism to track student satisfaction, faculty effectiveness, programme impact and implementing improvements accordingly.
- External Relations & Experiential Learning
- Oversee international study segments, ensuring an immersive and seamless global learning experience
- Manage partnerships with industry leaders, multinational corporations and global institutions to enhance experiential learning opportunities for students
- Develop and expand corporate and academic networks, creating opportunities for student engagement beyond the classroom.
- Budgeting & Financial Oversight
- Develop and manage the programme budget, ensuring financial sustainability and efficient resource allocation.
- Work closely with finance teams to ensure accurate forecasting, cost optimization and revenue tracking in alignment with SMU's business goals.
- Leadership and Team Management
- Drive team performance and achieve programme objectives through effective coaching, guidance and building a collaborative culture. This is done through effective workload distribution, professional development, and best practices.
- Set strategic priorities, optimize workflows and establish best practices to enhance programme efficiency and impact.
- New Academic Programmes
- Lead efforts in new programme proposals including coordinating market research, employment trends, competitor offerings and feasibility study.
- Facilitate approvals including internal committees, government agencies, budget and other resources.
- Ensure accreditation and regulatory compliance.
- Lead efforts to launch the programme including recruitment, marketing, orientation and systems set up.
- Ensure ongoing evaluation including student outcomes, faculty feedback and employment rates.
- Provide regular reports to academic leadership and accreditation bodies.
- Student Records
- Manage systems related work such as course enrolment, grades processing, credit transfe and exemptions.
- Facilitate lifting of admin hold and LOA applications.
- Administer facets survey.
- Other Duties as Assigned
- Support special projects, events and initiatives that align with the programme's long term goals.
- Bachelor's degree. Having a Master's degree will be advantageous.
- At least 10 years of relevant working experience, preferably in an educational setting.
- Prior experience relevant to this position or acquired in an Institute of Higher Learning (IHL) will be advantageous.
- Team management and coaching/mentoring skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills to engage with diverse stakeholders and foster collaborative working relationships.
- Adept in using MS Office (Excel, Powerpoint, Word) and video conferencing tools.
- Analytical and meticulous with an eye for details.
- A good team player, independent and proactive.
- Ability to multi-task with good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Decisive, with ability to work well under pressure.
- Able to work on weekends and weekday evenings when required.
- Flexibility to perform ad-hoc duties as needed.
- Able to travel overseas.
