Job Summary

As Assistant Restaurant Manager, you will lead front-of-house operations, mentor staff in Japanese dining etiquette, curate wine and sake experiences, and drive business growth through operational excellence and guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Lead daily front-of-house operations in collaboration with the Head Chef to ensure smooth service delivery
Mentor and develop staff in Japanese dining etiquette and service standards to enhance guest experience
Drive sales by upselling menu items and creating memorable guest interactions
Curate and recommend premium wine and sake selections tailored to the menu and guest preferences
Plan and execute wine-pairing experiences and exclusive tasting events to elevate the dining experience
Build and maintain expertise in Japanese sake traditions and international wine knowledge for informed recommendations
Oversee inventory management and implement cost-control strategies to optimize operational efficiency
Analyze sales reports to identify growth opportunities and support strategic decision-making
Support seasonal menu launches and promotional campaigns to boost customer engagement and revenue
Resolve guest feedback professionally with cultural sensitivity to maintain high satisfaction levels

Required competencies and certifications

Professional Certificate or equivalent qualification
2–3 years of restaurant management experience, preferably in Japanese cuisine

Preferred competencies and qualifications

Wine and sake knowledge; WSET certification is highly valued
Food safety certification is advantageous

Work Week: 5.5 days, shift-based including weekends and public holidays
