Position Overview:
The Senior Accountant is responsible for the full spectrum of accounting activities, including General Ledger maintenance and accurate transaction recording in line with accounting standards and internal policies. This role supports the Financial Accounting Lead in producing timely and reliable financial reports.
Job Responsibilities:
Accounting & General Ledger Management- Manage full set of accounts, including the General Ledger, balance sheets, and profit & loss statements
- Perform periodic closings, including journal entries, accruals, and prepayments
- Reconcile GL and bank accounts, investigate discrepancies to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Assist in the preparation of management accounts, financial statements, and periodic reports for internal and statutory purposes
- Support audit process by preparing audit schedules, providing supporting documentation, and ensuring adherence to internal controls
- Prepare reporting pack for holding company
- Review and post AP/AR transactions into GL, ensuring accurate coding and proper documentation
- Monitor aged receivables and payables and escalate issues as necessary
- Monitor cash flow requirements and coordinate with the Treasury function to ensure adequate funding for payments
- Oversee end-to-end AP payment processes including but not limited to executing payment runs, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies
- Review, verify, and process employee expense claims in accordance with company policies
- Support timely and accurate preparation of GST returns and corporate tax working papers
- Monitor and ensure timely submission and payment of withholding tax obligations
- Maintain proper records to ensure compliance with tax filing and regulatory requirements
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CA/CPA/ACCA qualification is a plus.
- 5 to 8 years of experience in accounting or finance operations, preferably in the energy, commodities, or LNG industry
- Proficient in managing full sets of accounts, particularly GL
- Strong technical knowledge of local and international accounting standards, tax laws, and audit processing
- Familiar with ERP or accounting systems (SAP B1 preferred)
- Possess good attention to details with strong organisational skills
