Singapore Financial Controller with global MNC (1 to 2 WFH days arrangement) - Geylang

Our client is a global MNC with an established presence. The co offers good benefits/perks including 1-2 days of WFH arrangements per week.
For this role, we are seeking for a dynamic and driven financial controller with strong supervisory skills and people skills. In this role, you will manage an accounting team and report to a senior Finance Director. You are responsible for the accounting and reporting matters related to the Singapore entities and ensuring accuracy of financial and statistical information, and compliance with internal policies and external laws and legislations.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Prepare statutory statements including Balance Sheet, P&L statements etc. Ensure team members complete the monthly closing for the various entities on time.
- Work closely with the shared service accounting team.
- Lead, develop, and mentor a team of accountants and finance staff, ensuring high standards of performance and engagement.
- Act as a finance advisor to the business on accounting/finance issues
- Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Interface with external auditors on audit matters and manage the audit process.
- Work on tax accounting filings with tax teams
- Work on ad-hoc work or projects may be given from time to time.
Requirements:
Education & Knowledge/Experience- Degree in Accounting with a CA/CPA qualification or its equivalent.
- Has min 15 years of accounting experience, with strong controllership and statutory accounting exposure gained with MNCs
- Possess strong IFRS and tax accounting experience.
- External audit exp is a nice to have and not a must
- Has hands-on experience managing an accounting team
- Has a strong control and process mindset
- Possess good commercial acumen
- SAP and Oracle exposure is preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications with strong working knowledge of MS Excel.
- Self-starter who is proactive, energetic with lots of self-drive
- Possess strong communication skills and interpersonal/influencing skills.
- Good team player and manager with the capability to lead, develop and drive performance of the team members.
- Able to thrive in a complex and dynamic work environment with tight deadlines.
