Head of Legal, Compliance, Risk & Corporate Secretarial

Reporting to the Group Chief Legal and Compliance Officer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Group’s legal, compliance, risk management and corporate secretarial functions, focusing on governance execution, structured risk management and disciplined follow-through to maintain overall governance and control.
Job Responsibilities:
- Governance Implementation & Control
- Support the implementation of the Group’s governance framework across legal, compliance and risk areas
- Ensure clarity of roles, responsibilities and escalation mechanisms
- Maintain discipline in decision-making processes and documentation
- Ensure consistency in how risk and legal matters are handled across the organisation
- Legal & Risk Oversight
- Oversee all legal matters including complaints, disputes, claims and litigation
- Ensure timely escalation and structured handling of high-risk matters
- Provide practical and balanced recommendations to management
- Coordinate and manage external counsel where required
- Compliance & Risk Management
- Support implementation of compliance and risk management frameworks
- Identify key risk areas and ensure proper monitoring and control
- Oversee internal investigations and conflict of interest matters
- Ensure issues are properly tracked and resolved
- Corporate Secretarial & Board Support
- Manage corporate secretarial functions and ensure compliance with statutory requirements
- Support preparation and coordination of Board and management meetings
- Ensure proper documentation and governance record-keeping
- Legal Operations & Team Management
- Lead and manage the legal, compliance and risk team
- Establish structured processes for intake, prioritisation and tracking of matters
- Improve responsiveness and coordination across the function
- Ensure visibility of key risks to management
- Stakeholder Coordination
- Act as a coordination point between business units, management and external parties
- Support communication and alignment on legal and risk matters
- Assist in handling sensitive or high-risk situations
- Development & Expansion
- Support the ongoing development and coordination of legal, compliance and risk capabilities across the Group, contributing to a more structured and centralised approach over time.
- Contribute to improving systems, processes and coordination across the Group
- Support future evolution of the function as part of organization growth
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in law or any related disciplines.
- Comes with minimum 15 years of relevant experience with proven leadership expertise
- Knowledge in cross border environments such as China required to support organization's Internationalization approach
- Proficient in both English and Chinese (spoken and written) to liaise effectively with Chinese-speaking stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to effectively communicate with senior stakeholders
- Strong sense of responsibility and accountability with a solutions oriented mindset
- Mature, resilient, and capable of managing challenging situations
