Role Overview
We are hiring two Scientists / Senior Scientists to join multidisciplinary research teams working on advanced optimisation and robotics AI.
While both roles involve applied research, algorithm development, and industry collaboration, each position has a distinct technical focus. Candidates should align strongly with one of the two focus areas outlined below.
Vacancy Focus Areas
Vacancy 1: Enterprise Optimisation & Planning Systems
"Scientist (Senior) – Enterprise Optimisation & Smart Virtual Systems (Modelling, Planning & Scheduling, Optimisation Algorithms)"
This role focuses on modelling and optimisation for enterprise‑scale multi‑resource planning problems, such as production scheduling, inventory management, and capacity planning. This role is aligned to candidates with strong backgrounds in operations research, optimisation, planning and scheduling, and enterprise‑scale decision systems.
Vacancy 2: Embodied AI & Robotics Systems
"Senior Research Scientist – Embodied AI & Robotics Systems (Robot Learning, Simulation, AI‑Driven Robotics Applications)"
This role is aligned to candidates with deep expertise in robotics, Embodied AI, robot learning, simulation, and autonomous or intelligent robotic system. The position involves developing intelligent robotic capabilities by integrating perception, control, learning, and simulation for industrial automation environments.
Key Responsibilities
Common Across Both Roles- Conduct applied research and translate research outcomes into industrial or production‑ready solutions
- Develop novel algorithms and models addressing complex, real‑world problems
- Collaborate with engineers and researchers to deliver integrated systems
- Publish research findings in leading journals and conferences
- Contribute to project proposals, funding applications, and industry collaborations
Vacancy‑Specific Focus
Optimisation & Planning- Lead research into optimisation models and algorithms for production planning, scheduling, and inventory optimisation
- Define research directions in optimisation and enterprise planning
- Mentor junior researchers and contribute to long‑term optimisation roadmaps
- Develop AI‑driven robotic algorithms for manipulation, autonomy, and adaptive behaviour
- Build and refine simulation environments using tools such as ROS, Isaac Sim, or equivalent
- Integrate perception, learning, and control to enable robust robotic systems
- PhD in a relevant field such as Robotics, Computer Science, AI, Operations Research, Electrical or Software Engineering
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in applied research, R&D, or technical leadership
- Strong programming skills in Python and/or C++
- Experience publishing in reputable AI, robotics, or optimisation venues
- Strong communication skills and ability to work across technical and non‑technical stakeholders
- Optimisation: modelling, planning & scheduling, algorithm design, mathematical optimisation
- Robotics: ROS/ROS2, simulation tools, robot learning (e.g. reinforcement or imitation learning), perception systems
