This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-performing team as a Life Underwriter, responsible for evaluating risk and exposure for a diverse portfolio of life and health insurance applications. The ideal incumbent will be expected to perform detailed assessment of medical and financial risk profiles for life and health policy applicants and exercise underwriting authority to provide consistent risk decisions aligned with industry best practices.
You will manage and resolve complex cases involving intricate medical histories and multiple risk variables and deliver professional advisory and support services to distribution partners regarding risk evaluation. The suitable candidate will also be expected to contribute technical expertise to internal business initiatives and strategic risk projects.
skills and experience required- 3+ years of professional experience specializing in life insurance underwriting
- Solid technical proficiency in evaluating medical conditions and understanding local insurance regulations
- Strong communication abilities to effectively engage with various internal and external stakeholders
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with the confidence to make critical risk determinations
- Relevant industry certifications such as LOMA, ACII, or equivalent professional insurance qualifications
