RMO Sputter Equipment Engineering Intern, Engineering
About our group:
Recording Media Operation (RMO) Sputter Equipment Engineering team is responsible to innovate engineering solutions in mechanical, electrical, software & controls, and advanced analytic system, and provide technical support to improve/enhance ultra-high vacuum (UHV) sputter machines with upgrades, OEE, unscheduled/scheduled downtime, operations, process capabilities, indirect material (IDM)/hardware/consumables cost reduction, productivity, new product conversion requirements, media performance and defects reduction.
About the role - you will:
As Sputter Equipment Engineering Intern, focuses on understanding equipment or process issues through technical analysis and root cause investigation, followed by proposing and supporting practical improvement solutions. You will work closely with experienced engineers and receive guidance throughout the project lifecycle
- Contribute to the design and implementation of mechanical and electrical engineering solutions for UHV sputter equipment
- Work on root cause and cause‑and‑effect analysis of equipment issues to improve quality, reliability, and efficiency
- Contributing to the development or enhancement of hardware, systems, or tooling to support process and productivity improvements
- Collaborating with cross‑functional teams (engineering, operations, and other stakeholders) to translate engineering concepts into practical, shop‑floor solutions
- Documenting designs, analyses, and results, and sharing findings in team or project meetings
About you:
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Innovative and enthusiasm in the field of mechanical/electrical engineering.
- Strong design, material and commercialized components selection/application skills.
- Strong team player, self-motivated, collaborative, and proactive approach.
- Ability to effectively communicate and present data in group meetings
- Able to commit full time semester internship (May/Aug to Dec) or (Jan to May/Aug).
Your experience includes:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor Degree in Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in basic 2D/3D Solidworks, Autocad modeling, electrical schematic and drawings generation.
- Basic knowledge in MS Excel, Power Point, Words.

Our Woodlands site is one of the largest electronics manufacturing sites in Singapore, housing our recording media operations.
