Robotics Deployment & Operations Assistant (1-Year Contract)

Working Hours:

• Standard: Weekdays, regular office hours
• Flexible: Required to support evenings, weekends, public holidays, and night testing as needed

Role Overview

We are seeking a hands-on and adaptable Robotics Deployment & Operations Assistant to support the setup, operation, and execution of robotic systems across demonstrations, events, exhibitions, and live performances. This role is ideal for individuals interested in robotics, field operations, and technology showcase environments.

• Support deployment, setup, and teardown of robotic systems at various sites including events, exhibitions, and customer demos
• Operate and monitor robots during live demonstrations and performances to ensure smooth execution
• Assist in basic troubleshooting, diagnostics, and maintenance of robotic platforms
• Conduct pre-event testing, including night testing where required
• Coordinate logistics for transportation, setup, and positioning of robots and related equipment
• Work closely with engineering and project teams to ensure deployment readiness
• Provide on-site support during events, including crowd engagement where applicable
• Maintain proper documentation of deployments, issues, and performance feedback
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and operational procedures

• Diploma / Degree in Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, IT, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
• Strong interest in robotics and technology deployments
• Comfortable with hands-on technical work in dynamic environments
• Basic understanding of robotics systems, sensors, or software (preferred but not mandatory)
• Good problem-solving skills and ability to think on your feet
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, public holidays, and nights when required

• Experience with ROS/ROS2, Linux (Ubuntu), or basic scripting
• Prior experience supporting events, exhibitions, or field operations
• Familiarity with troubleshooting hardware/software systems
• Proficiency in reading and writing Chinese as some hardware and software will be from China

• Reliable and responsible with a strong sense of ownership
• Adaptable to changing schedules and environments
• Physically able to support equipment setup and movement
• Positive attitude and proactive approach to challenges
