Junior QA Engineer

Role:

• We are hiring a Junior QA Engineer/Software Test Engineer to support manual testing, functional testing, SIT/UAT, defect tracking and test documentation for an enterprise IT project in Singapore.
• This role is suitable for fresh graduates, career switchers with relevant testing exposure, or candidates with up to 2 years of QA/testing experience.
• You will work closely with project managers, developers, system engineers and business users to ensure system quality and readiness before SIT, UAT, deployment and go-live.
• The core focus is manual testing, test execution, documentation, defect management and stakeholder coordination, with opportunities to gain exposure to API testing and automation tools where applicable.

Responsibilities:

• Execute manual, functional, regression and end-to-end test cases.
• Support SIT, UAT, deployment checks and production validation activities.
• Review requirements and prepare test scenarios, test cases and test scripts.
• Record test results clearly and maintain proper test evidence.
• Log defects, track issue status and verify bug fixes.
• Work with project managers, developers, system engineers and business users during testing cycles.
• Communicate testing progress, issues, risks and blockers clearly.
• Support basic API testing using tools such as Postman or Swagger, where required.
• Support automation testing activities where applicable.

Required Skills:

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or a related discipline.
• Internship, academic project or up to 2 years of experience in software testing / QA.
• Basic understanding of the software testing life cycle.
• Exposure to manual testing, functional testing, test case execution and defect reporting.
• Ability to write clear test cases and document test results accurately.
• Able to compare expected vs actual results and escalate issues clearly.
• Comfortable coordinating with developers, project teams and business users.
• Open to learning project tools, QA processes and testing methods used by the team.
