Job Overview

The Senior Staff Nurse / Head of Nursing & Therapy is responsible for leading the nursing and therapy functions to ensure high-quality care for residents. This role oversees clinical standards, compliance, staff supervision, and daily nursing operations in accordance with regulatory requirements and organisational policies.

• Support the Superintendent in overseeing the operations and clinical management of the Welfare Home, ensuring alignment with the Destitute Persons Act and Welfare Homes Regulations.
• Lead, plan, and manage nursing and therapy services to ensure safe, efficient, and high-standard healthcare delivery for residents.
• Ensure all care practices comply with legislative requirements, clinical guidelines, SOPs, service standards, and directives from relevant authorities.
• Provide preventive and curative nursing care under the instruction of medical doctors, including medical assessments, emergency response, and ongoing health monitoring.
• Supervise and mentor nursing staff, nursing aides, therapy teams, and health attendants to maintain high clinical competency and professionalism.
• Oversee documentation, medication management, infection control, and quality assurance processes.
• Develop and implement policies, care protocols, training programs, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance resident well-being and support therapy-integration efforts.
• Act as a key point of contact for audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.
• Lead emergency preparedness efforts and ensure staff are trained for emergency response scenarios.

• Degree / Advanced Diploma / Diploma in Nursing.
• Full or Conditional Registration with the Singapore Nursing Board.
• 3+ years of supervisory or management experience in clinical, aged care, therapy-integrated, or social service environments.
• Strong knowledge in policy development, quality management, and staff supervision.
• Solid understanding of clinical governance, safety practices, infection control, and resident care standards.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
