Our client is a listed Japanese manufacturing company whose line of business includes the wholesale distribution of electronic parts and communication equipment. They are looking for an Accounting & Admin Assistant Manager who is responsible for overseeing and managing the company’s accounting operations as well as general administrative functions.

You will be reporting to the Managing Director.

【Responsibilities】
Accounting Tasks (Daily / Weekly / Monthly / Yearly)
  • Handle daily accounting operations, including matching and posting of invoices, receipts, payments, and other accounting documents.
  • Manage bank transactions, perform reconciliations, and provide regular updates to Japan HQ.
  • Administer payroll processing, CPF submissions, and preparation/distribution of salary slips.
  • Prepare and submit GST filings, including related adjustments.
  • Perform month-end and year-end closing activities (P&L, Balance Sheet, journal vouchers, exchange rate adjustments).
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including cash flow statements.
  • Manage intercompany transactions, reconciliation, and confirmations.
  • Liaise with external auditors and tax agents for statutory audits and compliance matters.
Administrative & General Affairs Duties
  • Handle staff claims, leave applications, and childcare leave claims
  • Handle the office procurement such as stationery, pantry items, printer ink, warehouse materials (e.g., bubble wrap, carton boxes)
  • Arrange services such as air-con maintenance, water filter replacement, office printing, and contractor repair works (toilet, lighting)
  • Liaison for vehicle inspection, insurance, and road tax renewal
  • Coordinate audit confirmations, customer agreements, and documentation updates from Japan HQ
  • Manage company calendars, update shared folder,s and maintain internal records
  • Other general administrative duties as assigned

【Requirements & Preferences】

(Must)
  • Minimum Diploma holder, preferably in Accounting
  • At least 5 years of experience in administration and accounting
  • Fluent in English and Chinese to communicate with English and Chinese-speaking counterparts
  • Hands-on experience in month-end and year-end closing, GST submissions, and liaising with auditors/tax agents
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, able to manage both accounting and general affairs independently
  • Committed and able to work long-term in an organization
  • Able to join immediately
(Advantageous)
  • Knowledge of the internet banking system (Japanese bank) is an advantage
  • Prior experience working in Japanese companies or with Japan HQ reporting is preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software
