Job Description:
Our client is a reputable financial institution providing a wide range of commercial banking services to mid-sized enterprises and large corporates. As part of their expansion strategy, they are looking to hire a Commercial Banker (Senior Director) to manage and grow relationships with clients in the Australia Market.The Commercial Banker will be responsible for originating, developing, and managing a portfolio of Australian-based commercial clients. This includes delivering tailored financial solutions, managing credit risk, and identifying opportunities for cross-sell in areas such as trade finance, treasury, and lending.

Key Responsibilities:
- Originate and manage a portfolio of commercial clients with operations or HQ in Australia
- Develop strong client relationships to understand business needs and provide bespoke financial solutions
- Drive business development initiatives to acquire new clients and deepen existing relationships
- Structure and negotiate credit facilities, ensuring alignment with internal credit policies and risk appetite
- Partner with product teams (e.g., trade finance, cash management, FX) to offer comprehensive banking services
- Monitor market trends, industry developments, and regulatory changes impacting the Australia market
- Conduct periodic portfolio reviews, monitor credit performance, and mitigate potential risks
- Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements and internal risk management frameworks
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field
- Minimum 15 years of experience in commercial or corporate banking, with a focus on the Australian market.
- Proven track record in client acquisition, relationship management, and credit structuring
- Strong understanding of the Australian business environment, banking regulations, and market trends
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently and cross-functionally with global teams
- Proficiency in financial analysis and credit evaluation
