Financial Reporting Assistant
Proficiency in Excel is a must, with the ability to use advanced functions such as VLOOKUP, SUMIF, and pivot tables.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with the weekly, month-end closing process by ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately.
Prepare and process journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
Ensure the timely reconciliation of accounts.
Review and verify general ledger (GL) entries for accuracy and completeness.
Consolidation of weekly and Month-End Results:
Collect and consolidate month-end financial data from various departments.
Work with team members to gather variance explanations and comments from department heads.
Consolidate and summarize comments on financial results for management review.
Reporting:
Prepare weekly and month-end financial reports for internal stakeholders.
Ensure consistency and accuracy of financial data and commentary.
Assist with the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets and P&L statements.
Communication:
Liaise with department heads and other team members to gather necessary data and explanations for variances.
Ensure clear and accurate documentation of month-end results and variances.
Ad-hoc Support:
Provide any additional support needed to assist the finance team with month-end close processes.
Requirements:
Previous experience in accounting or finance, particularly in month-end close processes.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statements.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as VLOOKUP, SUMIF, pivot tables, and other data analysis tools.
Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with team members and departments.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively during the month-end close period.
