WSH Safety Officer (Construction Sector)

Responsibilities:
- Implement and enforce all safety policies, procedures, and statutory requirements in accordance with the WSH Act, MOM & BCA regulations, and industry Codes of Practice
- Lead the development and review of Safe Work Procedures (SWP), Risk Assessments (RA), and Safe Work Method Statements
- Conduct regular and ad-hoc site safety inspections, audits, and walkthroughs to identify hazards and unsafe practices
- Stop unsafe work when necessary and advise on remedial actions and take immediate corrective actions to eliminate or mitigate hazards
- Report and investigate all incidents, accidents, and near misses, identify root causes, and recommend corrective and preventive measures
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date WSH documentation including training records, RA registers, inspection checklists, safety reports, and incident logs
- Conduct site safety inductions, facilitate toolbox meetings, safety briefings, and emergency drills
- Conduct safety committee meetings and safety audits for management reporting and provide guidance to the members in carrying out their safety duties
- Liaise with authorities, external and internal stakeholders on safety matters
- Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining the company-wide Environmental, Health and Safety Management System
- Involve in ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001 and bizSAFE implementations and audits
- Proactively collaborate with relevant stakeholders to review and improve safety processes in line with industry best practices and promote a strong safety culture
- Registered Workplace Safety & Health Officer with the Ministry of Manpower
- Specialist Diploma in Workplace Safety & Health or related qualifications
- At least 5 years’ experience as WSHO in the construction industry, preferably with prior experience involved in interior fit-out and/or A&A projects
- Strong knowledge of Singapore’s WSH legislation, codes of practice, and ISO standards (45001, 14001 & 9001)
- Skilled in risk assessment, incident investigation, safety auditing, and training delivery
- Excellent communication, problem-solving and reporting skills
- Able to travel and multi-task in a fast paced and dynamic environment
