Sales Engineer – Genset parts
Division: Power Systems (Southeast Asia)
Department: Aftermarket Parts & Service Training
Basic Functions
Work closely with the business unit to achieve targeted sales growth and expand into new markets, ensuring sustained market capture. Develop strategic plans to drive growth in spare parts revenue and market share.
Specific Responsibilities- Manage all sales leads proactively to ensure timely closure and business profitability.
- Provide accurate forecasts and maintain sales pipeline reports for management planning.
- Actively promote service sales (aftermarket offerings) alongside spare parts to distributors.
- Partner with the sales team to create strategies for expanding business within existing accounts.
- Possess in-depth knowledge of industrial diesel engines (from small to large capacity) to support distributors with technical advice on spare parts.
- Optimize inventory levels—both in-house and customer-site consignment stocks—to ensure high parts availability at low stock-up costs.
- Keep detailed records of all pricing, projects, sales activities, and reports.
- Prepare and deliver proposals and presentations to sales reps, prospects, and customers.
- Lead or contribute to cross-functional continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform other aftermarket and spare parts-related duties as required.
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, ideally in spare parts or automotive industries.
- Open to travel across Asia Pacific and Southeast Asia (approx. 10–15%).
- Strong communication and presentation abilities, both verbal and written.
- Customer-focused with strong interest in spare parts and power generation.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; independent and results-driven with a good sense of business.
- Prior experience in engine manufacturers’ spare parts will be advantageous.
- Customer Focus: Engage directly with both internal and external customers to understand their needs and take informed actions.
- Performance Standards: Take ownership of outcomes and aim for excellence rather than waiting for imposed benchmarks.
