Assistant Manager, Procurement (Trader Background Preferred, Global HQ) - Toa Payoh

Background
Forindo is the strategic procurement arm of Royal Golden Eagle (RGE) group. Reporting directly to management, Forindo manages a wide range of raw material categories – Chemicals, Energy, Packaging, MRO, etc that goes into the production of our finished goods in pulp, paper, board, viscose textiles, palm oil & its derivatives, and natural gas, which we produce in Indonesia, China, Malaysia, Brazil, and Canada.
The Role- Own and manage the portfolio of chemicals assigned to you. Take control, lead the initiative, influence stakeholders, and decide best class strategy to execute raw material procurement of spend size between USD 80~150 million.
- Fast action self-starter capable of thriving under challenging environment. Capable of communicating own point of view.
- Understands and manage full spectrum of supply chain.
- Demonstrate ability to engage with both commercial and non-commercial stakeholders, create strong partnership, and influence them to support group’s commercial objective.
- Strong commercial acumen to understand market to create action plan. Execute sound and timely purchasing decision
- Ensure cost, quality, delivery, reliability and technical performance while achieving goals
- Be well-versed in the life cycle of a commercial trade/ deal and must have prior hands-on experiences in most of these activities.
- Take global lead role in overseeing key chemicals across all mills to develop a commodity strategy which is in line with global strategy
- Eventually provide regular market updates to senior management
- Any other group level ad-hoc projects as assigned by reporting manager
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education/Experience- Graduate in Business Management or related field from a reputable university.
- Physical commodity trading experience of 5~10 years. Or, having minimum 6 years of strategic procurement experience. Individual with strong commercial mindset are also welcome to apply.
- Demonstrate good commercial thought process and effective communication both written and verbal.
- Have experience in handling commodities for both bulk carrier vessels and container shipments.
- For procurement professionals, having proven track record in achieving results set by management. For traders, proven track record in managing their own portfolio and taking control ensuring smooth trading ops execution.
- Demonstrate good interpersonal communication skill to interact with various levels of people throughout a big international organization, including ability to communicate clearly with senior stakeholders
- High energy individual, able to work in fast pace environment, manage challenges, anticipate problems, planning ahead.
- Must have good ethics and able to conduct himself or herself honestly and with compliance
- A team player and supports team in achieving group goals.
- Must be Proficient in both Mandarin and English (written and spoken).
Other Information:
- Permanent position
- 5 days’ work week
- Travelling of 15~25% is expected to promote and develop business goals.
