Retail Assistant / Senior Retail Assistant / Cashier - Toa Payoh

Working location: Island wide

Working hours: 5 days work week (Rotating), 10:15AM to 9:45 PM

• (1) Retail Assistant

1. Assist customers with product selection, promotions, and inquiries.
2. Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing store layout.
3. Restock shelves and monitor inventory to prevent stock shortages.
4. Help place and receive replenishment orders with suppliers.
5. Perform stocktaking and assist in stock reconciliation.
6. Inspect and process incoming goods; handle returns of damaged items.
7. Label products with correct pricing and barcodes.
8. Support promotional events (e.g., gifts, vouchers, offers).
9. Uphold store cleanliness and tidiness at all times.
10. Carry out additional tasks as assigned by the Retail Manager or Assistant Manager.

• GCE 'N' / 'O' Level or equivalent (minimum).
• 1 year of retail or customer service experience preferred.
• Flexible to work weekends and public holidays.
• (2) Senior Retail Assistant

1. Manage assigned product category (inventory, pricing, displays, and sales performance).
2. Collaborate with merchandisers and suppliers on promotions and sales activities.
3. Monitor sales trends and recommend strategies to boost category performance.
4. Guide and support Retail Assistants with product knowledge and store procedures.
5. Handle escalated customer issues to ensure excellent service.
6. Assist in team scheduling, task delegation, and performance monitoring.
7. Optimize manpower allocation to control labour costs.
8. Perform cashiering duties and step in as a Retail Assistant when needed.
9. Handle administrative tasks (e.g., purchase orders, stock receipts, documentation).
10. Conduct daily briefings to align team goals and priorities.
11. Support and coordinate stock-taking activities.
12. Take on other tasks as assigned by the Retail or Assistant Retail Manager.

• GCE 'O' Level or equivalent minimum.
• 2+ years of retail experience, preferably in a supervisory role.
• Training in retail/customer service is a plus.
• Able to work retail shifts, including weekends and public holidays.

1. Collect and prepare cash float at the start of shift; ensure proper denomination sorting.
2. Set up cashier counter and verify correct item codes and pricing via POS system.
3. Process cash and non-cash transactions (e.g., credit card, NETS) accurately.
4. Count and record cash at shift end; hand over to Duty Manager with proper documentation.
5. Keep cashier area clean, tidy, and well-stocked (e.g., bags, charge slips).
6. Assist customers with inquiries and provide excellent service at checkout.
7. Support stocktaking activities as needed.
8. Upsell products at the counter and encourage add-on purchases.
9. Assist with in-store promotions and sales events.
10. Perform other duties assigned by the Retail or Assistant Retail Manager.

• GCE 'N' / 'O' Level or equivalent.
• Basic math skills; cashier or retail experience preferred (min. 1 year ideal).
• Attention to detail in cash handling and payment accuracy.
• Comfortable working with cash, cards, vouchers, and POS systems.
• Strong customer service mindset and a team player.
• Willing to work retail shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
• Able to adapt to fast-paced and changing retail needs.
