Location: SomersetReporting to: CEO
Salary: up to SGD 7,000 + Performance Bonus (up to 2 months)
Working Schedule: 5 day work week (Mon–Thurs: 9.30am–6pm, Fri: 9.30am–5.30pm)
Role Overview
We are seeking a Compliance Officer to ensure full adherence to internal policies, SOPs, and external regulatory requirements. This role involves developing and implementing compliance programs, conducting audits, training staff, assessing risks, and reporting directly to senior management.You will play a key part in promoting ethical practices, safeguarding reputation, and ensuring that all operations—from sales and customer interactions to documentation—are compliant with standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Define and implement code of conduct, guidelines, policies, and procedures.
- Monitor adherence to sales processes, including refunds, exchanges, invoices, pricing, and payment terms.
- Oversee customer interactions, ensuring accurate information and compliant handling of inquiries and complaints.
- Maintain compliance documentation and prepare regular reports with recommendations for improvement.
- Conduct staff training sessions on compliance and update them regularly on best practices.
- Perform risk assessments and develop strategies to manage potential non-compliance issues.
- Carry out systematic audits of operations, including retail stores, warehouse, and office procedures.
- Investigate compliance breaches, grievances, or irregularities and recommend remedial actions.
- Act as liaison with regulators and coordinate audit information requests.
- Collaborate with legal, HR, finance, and other departments to ensure a consistent compliance approach.
- Min 3 years’ experience in compliance, customer service, or related field (retail experience an advantage).
- Strong ethics, integrity, and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle challenging situations and have difficult conversations confidently.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in MS Outlook and Excel (compliance certifications a plus).
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced retail environment, including occasional overtime and weekends.
