Our company’s main business activity is in GMDSS (Global Maritime Distress and Safety System) services, specializing in the inspection, maintenance, and certification of marine communication and safety equipment. In addition, our company acts as the sole surveyor for Japan-flagged vessels operating within our service region.
As a significant portion of our clientele consists of Japanese shipping companies and Japan-flagged vessels, it is essential for the General Manager to be proficient in the Japanese language and familiar with Japanese business practices and regulatory requirements.Effective communication with Japanese principals, ship owners, and regulatory bodies is critical to maintaining service standards and operational efficiency.
Furthermore, the appointed General Manager will be required to obtain a Surveyor Licence relevant to Japan-flagged vessel requirements. Based on the current licensing regulations, only Japanese nationals are eligible to enroll for the required surveyor examination.This licensing requirement is mandatory for carrying out surveyor duties related to Japan-flagged ships and is essential for the continuation of our company’s role as the designated surveyor.
In addition to the technical and regulatory requirements, the General Manager must possess a good command of English, as English is the primary working language for communication with local authorities, international clients, and internal staff.The role will also encompass full managerial responsibilities, including overseeing daily operations, supervising technical personnel, ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining customer relationships, and supporting business development activities.
In view of the above operational and regulatory requirements, we respectfully state that a candidate of Japanese nationality, with the ability to obtain the required surveyor licence and effectively communicate with Japanese clients, is necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the General Manager position and to ensure the continued delivery of our specialized services.
