Software Engineer, Google Cloud Storage

Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with storage technologies/systems.
- Experience with file systems.
- Experience in building and maintaining infrastructure software in a distributed environment.

Responsibilities- Contribute to the design and development of new features and performance improvements in GCS client software (e.g., SDKs, Command-line Interface (CLI), connectors) by writing codes.
- Assist in benchmarking GCS client performance for key customer use cases. Run tests, analyze the results, and help implement code changes to address performance bottlenecks.
- Work on debugging and resolving customer-reported issues. Learn to trace problems through the client stack and apply targeted fixes in the SDKs and connectors to improve the customer experience.
- Improve the codebases by adding unit tests, fixing existing bugs, and implementing logging and metrics that help make the software easier to debug and maintain.
