Assistant Manager, Corporate Secretarial
Assembly Works Toa Payoh Full-time
About Us
Assembly Works is a boutique corporate services firm helping local and international businesses set up and stay compliant in Singapore. We handle everything from company incorporations to ongoing corporate secretarial work, and we pride ourselves on doing it properly — not just ticking boxes.
We're a small, close-knit team, which means you'll have real ownership over your portfolio and a direct hand in shaping how the department runs.
The Role
We're looking for an Assistant Manager to manage your own client portfolio while supervising a team of junior corporate secretarial executives. This is a hands-on leadership role — you'll still be doing corpsec work day-to-day, but you'll also be responsible for the output and development of your team. You'll report directly to the Head of Department.
What you'll be doing:
- Supervising and managing a team of junior corporate secretarial executives — reviewing their work, assigning tasks, and ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met
- Managing your own portfolio of clients across different industries, handling their full range of corporate secretarial needs from incorporation through to annual compliance
- Reviewing and signing off on board and shareholder resolutions, minutes, statutory filings, and ACRA lodgements prepared by your team
- Acting as the escalation point for client queries and advising on corporate governance and compliance matters
- Training and developing junior staff — building their technical skills, improving their client communication, and conducting performance check-ins
- Preparing and lodging complex notifications with ACRA, including share allotments, changes to company particulars, and Annual Returns
- Working with the Head of Department to improve internal SOPs, workflows, and service delivery across the team
- Conducting and overseeing customer due diligence (KYC/CDD) for new and existing clients
- 3–5 years of experience in corporate secretarial work within a CSP, law firm, or professional services firm
- Prior experience supervising or managing junior staff — this is essential, not a nice-to-have
- Strong working knowledge of the Singapore Companies Act and hands-on experience with the BizFile+ portal
- ICSA/SAICSA qualification, or currently working towards one
- Confident communicator who can manage client relationships, review others' work, and give clear feedback
- Organised and able to juggle your own portfolio alongside team oversight without dropping balls
- Degree in Business, Law, Accountancy, or a related field
- Lead a team, not just a portfolio. You'll have direct reports and real influence over how work gets done — not just a "senior" title with no authority.
- Shape the department. We're growing, and you'll have a direct say in how we build our processes, standards, and team culture.
- Develop your career. We support professional development, including sponsorship for ICSA/SAICSA and other qualifications.
- Small team, big exposure. You'll see the full range of corpsec work across different client types and industries — not just one narrow slice.
- Chinatown Point location. Steps from Chinatown MRT, with no shortage of lunch options.
