Library Assistant (1-Year Contract)

Working Hours: Vary by school (typically Mon–Fri, ~44 hours/week)

About the Role

Are you passionate about books, education, and building a positive environment for students and educators? Our client is seeking dedicated Library Assistants to support daily operations and learning programmes in MOE school libraries. This role is perfect for individuals who enjoy working in school settings, are detail-oriented, and have a heart for student development.

• Manage daily library operations including circulation, shelving, and enquiries
• Use the Library Automation System to update patron records and book inventories
• Organise and maintain book collections using Dewey Decimal Classification
• Support reading promotion activities such as Library Week, Book Reviews, and student programmes
• Conduct library orientations and assist with basic user education for students and staff
• Create engaging book displays and assist in promoting new arrivals
• Liaise with vendors for procurement of library resources
• Prepare simple reports on library usage and activities
• Ensure a neat, welcoming, and student-friendly library environment

• Minimum GCE ‘O’ Level qualification
• Friendly, approachable, and enjoys working with students and teachers
• Familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Willing to learn library systems (training provided)
• Able to manage shelving and movement of books
