Position Overview
As our Salon Receptionist, you'll be the first point of contact for our clients, responsible for creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere while ensuring smooth day-to-day operations at the front desk.
Key Responsibilities
Client Service- Greet clients warmly and professionally as they arrive
- Escort clients to appropriate service areas and notify stylists of arrivals
- Provide information about salon services, promotions, and products
- Handle client inquiries, questions, and concerns with professionalism
- Ensure clients feel comfortable and valued throughout their visit
- Offer refreshments and maintain waiting area comfort
- Schedule, confirm, and manage appointments via phone, email, and online booking system
- Handle appointment changes, cancellations, and rescheduling
- Send appointment reminders to clients
- Coordinate stylist schedules and manage booking flow
- Walk-in client management and coordination
- Answer phone calls and respond to emails promptly
- Maintain accurate client records and appointment history
- Process payments (cash, credit cards, gift cards)
- Issue receipts and handle transactions
- Manage the salon's booking software/system
- File and organize documents as needed
- Accept and log package deliveries
- Promote salon services, packages, and retail products
- Inform clients about current specials and promotions
- Assist with retail product sales
- Upsell additional services when appropriate
- Keep reception area clean, organized, and professional
- Maintain an inviting and clutter-free front desk
- Ensure retail displays are neat and well-stocked
- Monitor and report supply needs
- Light cleaning duties in reception area
Required Qualifications
Essential Skills & Attributes- Strong English proficiency (verbal and written communication)
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, welcoming demeanor
- Professional appearance and positive attitude
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn salon software
- Comfortable handling cash and processing payments
- Team player who works well with stylists and staff
- Previous receptionist, front desk, or customer service experience preferred
- Salon or spa experience is a plus but not required
- Experience with scheduling software is beneficial
- Weekend availability is required
- Must be flexible with scheduling
- Ability to work variable shifts as needed
- Reliable transportation
Position Details
Employment Type: Part-Time
Schedule:
- Flexible part-time hours (typically 15-25 hours per week)
- Includes weekend shifts (Saturday and/or Sunday)
- Some weekday availability may be required
- Specific schedule to be discussed during interview
