Overview:
The Commercial Manager will serve as a strategic business partner to Field Sales, managing consultation and accelerating agreement closure timelines while mitigating commercial and contractual risk across all cloud products and services.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with Field Sales teams early in the business cycle to drive proposal development and shape large, strategic enterprise agreements.
- Project manage the consultation and execution of agreements, coordinating the preparation of responses to requests for information, proposals, or quotations.
- Review and prepare contract redlines.
- Engage directly with enterprise customers to lead commercial and contractual consultations; independently handle objections, socialize customer requests with internal stakeholders, and coordinate approvals.
- Act as an escalation point for resolving in-scope issues within assigned areas of responsibility.
- Provide strategic guidance on contract negotiations to internal and external stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor to Sales Leadership, Business Practices, Legal, Finance, and Product teams.
- Build productive relationships and feedback loops with internal teams to accelerate agreements and drive continuous process improvement.
- Serve as a business partner to Regional Sales and Sales Operations Management; provide insights during forecast calls, staff meetings, and business reviews to stay aligned with business priorities.
- Introduce prospective customers to cloud solution concepts, norms, and industry standards; draft term sheets and provide customer-facing analysis demonstrating the value of the proposed solution.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Engineering, Science, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of experience in agreement consultation and management or executive sales within the technology sector.
- Demonstrated experience in contract negotiations for IT products and services, including contract drafting, C-level stakeholder management, and direct customer engagement.
- Proven ability to negotiate enterprise agreements and manage contract-related projects involving customers and cross-functional internal teams; skilled in addressing customer concerns with education, standard fallback provisions, or customized drafting as required.
- Experience developing complex agreement structures; advanced knowledge and experience in drafting contracts addressing legal requirements related to cloud solutions in at least two industries.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to lead multiple time-sensitive projects; effective analytical and problem-solving abilities, including the capacity to present findings clearly.
