LNG Trading and Market Analyst

Our client, a multinational energy company, is looking to hire an LNG Trading & Market Analyst. This role is part of the LNG trading team in Singapore, working closely with traders, risk, and internal stakeholders to deliver market analysis, forecasting, and data-driven insights.

Job Responsibilities:

1. LNG Market Analysis

• Analyse global LNG supply-demand, pricing, shipping, and infrastructure
• Gather market intelligence through industry engagement
• Monitor key indicators (prices, freight, inventory, demand trends)
• Track regulatory, geopolitical, and macroeconomic developments
• Assess carbon markets impact and related risks/opportunities

1. Forecasting & Modelling

• Build and maintain models for supply-demand, pricing, and cargo flows
• Develop mid- to long-term market forecasts
• Construct forward price curves, including illiquid tenors
• Apply both fundamental and market-based methodologies
• Continuously refine forecasting accuracy

1. Trading Support

• Provide analytics for trade evaluation and portfolio optimization
• Analyze logistics, freight economics, and delivery structures
• Support hedging strategies and risk mitigation
• Conduct economic analysis for transactions and value creation
• Balance profitability with security of supply and operational needs

1. Reporting & Performance Analysis

• Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations for stakeholders
• Deliver regular market updates with actionable insights
• Track trading performance and P&L drivers
• Ensure data quality and integrity
• Improve analytical tools and processes

Job Requirements:

• Degree in business, finance, math, engineering or related fields
• Min 5 years' experience in LNG trading analytics or similar industry
• Strong understanding of LNG value chain and commodity markets
• Knowledge of key indices (TTF, Henry Hub, JKM, Brent)
• Strong communication, teamwork, and multicultural adaptability
