Skills, Competencies, Qualifications, Education and Experience

• Fundamental Certificate in Early Childhood Care and Education or equivalent (For Para Educarer)
• Certificate in Early Childhood Education or equivalent (For Para Educator)

• Assist the Educator in planning and implementation of education programme for children from two (2) months to six (6) years of age
• A role model to children, and believes in fostering positive attributes, explicitly and implicitly by example in the classroom
• Understands of the developmental milestones and emerging skills in the first 6 years. Upholds principles of care giving and developmentally appropriate practices
• Provides a warm, nurturing environment where children are valued and respected with emphasis on the teaching and demonstrating the M.Y World four core values
• Provides a well-organized, safe and clean learning environment for the children
• Ensures health and safety of all children
• Plans and setup the learning environment (physical, daily schedule, as well as social emotional environment) so as to meet the children’s developmental need both as a group and individually
• Takes charge of all routine care duties such as supervising and assisting children during transition periods, bathing, meal and nap times. Assists new children to settle-in.
• Assists Educators to monitor and supervise children in the classroom, on field trips, and other activities; or monitors the class when Educator is otherwise occupied
• Assists and interacts with children during activities
• Provides various experiences and activities for children including songs, games and story-telling
• Communicates clearly and effectively in a manner that children understand.
• Assists Educator to assess and compile the development of individual children into report for the parents
• Reports unusual situations, such as allergies, accidents, parental requests and concerns or behavioural irregularities to the Educator/Principal
• Provides administrative support for class recordkeeping and communication book as required
