Executive Lecturer, Islamic Education - Bedok

General Purpose of Position:

The Executive Lecturer, Islamic Education operates as a full-time teaching staff member, responsible for delivering quality academic instruction, developing teaching materials, and supporting student learning. This may include preparing lesson plans, slides, and classroom activities, as well as providing academic counseling and engaging in co-curricular initiatives.

The role also covers administrative duties such as exam-related tasks, managing the Learning Management System (LMS), and handling matters related to assessments, transcripts, and certificates. Additionally, the position contributes to student development programmes, including support for the student council (MPP).

Main Duties:

Teaching & Learning Excellence
  • Deliver high-quality teaching & learning activities according to IPIP curriculum framework, guidelines, policies and educational philosophy.
Curriculum Development & Academic Quality
  • Support curriculum implementation, assessment planning, and teaching-learning activities in coordination with lecturers and academic staff.
  • Participate in academic committees to support quality assurance processes, accreditation exercises and strategic planning initiatives.
Assessment & Examination Administration
  • Assist in the development and planning of student assessment frameworks aligned with curriculum standards and learning outcomes, including the vetting and preparation of examination questions and the implementation of quality assurance measures.

Secondary Duties:

Academic Result and Certificate
  • Responsible for the administration and processing of academic documents, including the verification and issuance of examination results, academic transcripts, and certificates, in accordance with institutional policies and timelines.
Teaching & Learning Support
  • Responsible for coordinating and managing the Learning Management System (LMS), including system administration, user support, content management and ensuring the platform effectively supports teaching and learning activities.
Student council (MPP)
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of the Student Council and oversee the implementation of the Student Council program.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Educational Administration, Islamic Studies, or a related field
  • Must be ARS Certified
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in academic administration, curriculum implementation, teaching and learning support, or student affairs, preferably in a post-secondary or Islamic education institution.
  • Proven experience in coordinating academic programmes, supporting faculty development, and managing instructional materials is beneficial
  • Familiar with the expectations of an educational institution

Type of Skills and/or License or Certification Required:

  • Proficiency in Arabic is required, including reading, writing, and comprehension for instructional, administrative, and publication-related tasks.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Malay.
  • Excellent planning, coordination, and analytical skills, particularly in academic assessments, curriculum support, and quality assurance.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of educational quality assurance frameworks and Islamic education accreditation standards.
  • Ability to facilitate academic training sessions, support committee work, and manage academic documentation effectively.
