Security Systems P&C Engineer
You will be a trusted technical steward, driving the health, evolution, and scalability of Tesla’s physical security systems while supporting critical operations across a dynamic, global footprint.
As a core member of the APAC Security Engineering team, you will also collaborate closely with global engineering, security systems project managers, and IT teams to deliver secure, reliable, and future-ready systems that protect Tesla’s people, assets, and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure continuous operational availability of physical security systems across APAC, with a focus on uptime, performance, and system integrity.
- Test, program, and commission new security devices and systems, including rigorous quality checks during installation and integration.
- Evaluate security system implementations through a risk-based lens, balancing operational impact, system architecture, and business workflows to deliver secure, practical solutions.
- Support the long-term evolution of Tesla’s physical security technology infrastructure, including design, deployment, and lifecycle management.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation and deliver clear, actionable reports to security leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Serve as a technical escalation point for live system or device failures, driving rapid resolution with minimal business disruption.
- Manage the maintenance and health monitoring of installed systems, leveraging remote support from integrators and internal teams.
- Partner with operations, production, security, and IT teams to translate business needs into technical solutions that enhance security and efficiency.
- Identify and drive cost, performance, and reliability improvements in physical security technology and deployment practices.
- Mentor and support junior engineers, accelerating their technical growth and onboarding into complex environments.
- Monitor, configure, and maintain enterprise-level security systems and storage infrastructure, ensuring high availability and data integrity.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in programming, commissioning, and maintaining networked physical security systems in multinational or multi-site environments.
- Expert-level knowledge of:
- Low-voltage electrical systems
- Video Management Systems (VMS) – Genetec, Axis, Hanwha
- Access Control Systems – Gallagher, HID, etc.
- Intrusion detection and alarm systems
- Vendor certifications (e.g., Gallagher, Genetec, Axis, Hanwha) are highly advantageous.
- Technical certifications such as CCIE/CCNP, SSCP, PMP, or similar are a strong plus.
- Proven ability to work autonomously in complex, fast-paced environments with minimal supervision.
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
- Deep understanding of server hardware, operating systems, and storage controllers within enterprise network environments.
