Lab Assistant Manager

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead and coach the Lab Analysts, Controllers (chemist and microbiologist) in analytical testing.
• Ensure the data review and analysis is performed in a safe and reliable manner to support manufacturing operations in accordance with standard procedures.
• Ensure the Lab's operation and practices are following to EN ISO 13485, current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), JQMS and Good Documentation Practices (GDPs).
• Perform daily operations, problem solving, and continuous improvements in the Laboratory.
• Supervise LAB analysts and technicians during testing and that will also include equipment troubleshooting, equipment failure handling and investigation.
• Review analytical test results (inclusive of both raw materials and product) and monitor trends to detect early anomaly to prevent an Out-of-Specification situation.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement appropriate corrective action during failure investigation. This is to be followed by ensuring all actions are completed. Make decisions based on scientific and logical rationale with a risk-based approach.
• Ensure continuity in laboratory consumables, chemicals and supplies by monitoring inventory.
• Completes operational requirements by assigning and scheduling staff.
• Establish, review and/or approve operating procedures.
• Train the LAB team on established operating procedures pertaining to equipment operation, test methods and all laboratory control.
• Review regularly for continuous improvement and safety-related initiatives.
• Coordinate, develop and maintains the scope and performance of LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems) Projects.
• Counsels and disciplines employees as required to achieve productivity.
• Perform other related duties and responsibilities assigned by Lab manager.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of technical experience in Quality Control laboratory within the medical device, pharmaceutical, food, chemical or process industries.
• Experience in managing/supervising a team of laboratory Technician, Analyst, Chemist and Microbiologist will be advantage.
• Experience in operating LIMS (Lab information Management System) will be advantage.
• Willing to travel within the Asia-Pacific region when necessary.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Excellent multi-tasking skills.
