Bukit Batok - Senior Executive, Programme (Senior Laboratory Executive)

The Senior Executive will be responsible for preparing lab consumables, managing equipment, delivering training, and assisting with experimental procedures and equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities:

• The incumbent is required to ensure that all the laboratory session arrangements concerning timetabling, facilitation of the teachings, BoEs and teaching schedules are executed on a timely manner.
• Responsible for lab component procurements for the laboratory sessions.
• Develops, proposes and executes processes regarding to the setting up and preparation of laboratory courses, and maintenance of the laboratory equipment.
• Provides support to MSCBME students during laboratory sessions.
• Ensure that each user can is properly trained and aware of the health and safety hazards associated with the various highly specialised equipment (fluorescence microscope, 3D printers, flow cytometer, confocal microscope, cell culture, etc.).
• To implement safety protocols and ensure that the students learn the safe and correct ways to handle the equipment and hazardous chemicals during their lab experiments.
• Provide daily check on the usage record of central facilities equipment and housekeeping.
• To assist the reporting officer in the charging of the central facilities lab equipment.
• Assist in the general central lab/teaching lab administration and other responsibilities.
• Manages the relationship and interactions with current students.
• Assist the administration of course registrations, timetabling, NTUlearn, Student Feedback on Teaching (SFT), Mark lists for the relevant modules and laboratory schedules on an ad-hoc basis.
• Other ad-hoc duties as required by the MSCBME programme.

Skills and qualifications:

• Reputable diploma/degree Biomedical Engineering, Bioengineering or Biotechnology or equivalent in any relevant field.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in academic and lab setting.
• Hands-on experience or willingness to learn on the job for the following instruments, including, but not limited to: fluorescence microscope, 3D printers, flow cytometer, confocal microscope, cell culture.
• Experience of working in the Higher Education sector.
• Analytical thinker.
• Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Proactive and a positive attitude towards work tasks.
• Good learning ability and able to work independently with minimal guidance.
• Strong ability to communicate (verbal and written skills) effectively with students, faculty and team members.
• Conscientious team player.
• Good planning and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure.
