In 2024, NAFA also laid out its long-term ambition via the NAFA-100 strategic plan. It laid out the vision of what NAFA is to be in 2038, its centennial year. Journeying ahead towards NAFA-100, the ambition is to establish NAFA as the leading arts institution in Singapore with a strong global reputation and presence.
As part of this journey, NAFA will be looking to hire a Senior Manager, Strategic Communications, to be the key person to manage communications activities at the Academy. The role reports to Head of Marketing and Strategic Communications but will work directly with the President and the Vice President (Academic) & Provost, as well as with leadership on a wide spectrum of communication activities.
In this pivotal role, the Senior Manager will have the following responsibilities:
Main Roles and Responsibilities- As the communications “business partner”, work with internal stakeholders to develop media content, including key messages, story bank and FAQs for press releases, speech writing, media statements, interview talking points, spokesperson quotes, media kits with the ability to do translation in Chinese
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment of messaging and brand consistency, as well as to develop crisis communication messaging to manage the company's reputation
- Proactively identify opportunities to communicate the Academy's story effectively via media pitches, press announcements, feature stories/thought leadership pieces, and corporate collaterals.
- Cultivate good media relations that will result in positive press coverage for the Academy.
- Monitor and analyse media coverage and key industry developments. From those analyses, draw insights to improve communications efforts and address any negative publicity.
- Degree in Public Relations or Corporate Communication
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in media and public relations or corporate communication. Experience in working with Public Relations agencies or in-house is an advantage
- Have prior experience partnering corporate communication teams from ministries, government agencies, education or arts institutions
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Service oriented, highly motivated, results oriented, resourceful, keen problem solver and eager to learn new media
- Excellent writing and editing skills, with keen attention to detail and the ability to adapt writing style for different audiences
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate and work effectively with various stakeholders
