Chemical Technician X 2 - Junior & Senior / MNC / Jurong Island

SENIOR CHEMICAL TECHNICIAN / BASIC UP TO $3500 (NEGO) + ALLOWANCES - GROSS $4700++

Responsibilities:

• Perform minor maintenance such as strainer cleaning, filter/ screen change, coolant/ lubricants top up and hose connection etc.
• Perform checks, start-up and shutdown operations on process equipment such as pumps and compressors as per Standard Operating Procedures or Work Instructions.
• Isolating piping systems for plant start-up, shutdowns, product grade change and troubleshooting operations.
• Monitor and control process variables via DCS (distillation columns, reactors, driers, compressors, etc) to maintain quality and stability of the plant.
• Adjusting process parameters to optimize process operations under supervision of Supervisors.
• Support supervision to troubleshoots equipment and/or process problems to identify needed corrections or Improvements.
• Performing as acting Supervisor in the absence of Shift Supervisor.
• Collect process samples from assigned sampling points in a safe manner.
• Able to work in a laboratory environment performing in process sample testing to ensure product quality.
• Commissioning and de-commissioning of process equipment.
• Performing emergency shutdown of process equipment
• Proper handing and blending of non-conforming and off specs products.
• Prepare plant equipment for maintenance and ensure all required Lockout, Tagout and Tryout has been performed.
• Lead onsite job training (OJT) for junior Chemical Technicians.
• Preparing chemicals, including mixing and dilution, for process operations
• Performing inter-tank transfers of chemicals and products based on established quality procedures.
• Performing emergency response activities and drills.
• Maintain acceptable housekeeping in assigned areas.
• Review final product and process analytical results, and DCS conditions/trends.
• Understand and comply with departmental Safety and Environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures.
• Contribute to the improvement of the Safety, Health, Environment and Quality Programs.

Requirements:

• NITEC or Diploma in Chemical Process Technology
• At least 7-8 years’ working experience as Process Technician in a chemical industry
• Must be able to work on 12-hours rotating shifts
• Working hours: 8am to 8pm & 8pm to 8am

SENIOR CHEMICAL TECHNICIAN / BASIC UP TO $2000 (NEGO) + ALLOWANCES - GROSS $3200++

Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance to statutory and corporate requirements related to safety and HSE issues.
• Ensure that plant is at optimum operating conditions at all times.
• Do periodic checking by plant patrol, in order to maintain high plant reliability so that production targets are achieved with minimum production downtime.
• Handle sampling and in-process QC analysis.
• Preparation of master batch sub-raw materials as per production requirements.
• Assist Shift Superintendent in taking prompt and appropriate measures, where necessary, during plant emergencies
• Perform simple maintenance on plant equipment, if necessary.
• Provide support to other sections where necessary, e.g. Technical, Distribution, Sales, in daily plant operations or commissioning of new product grades.
• Perform Emergency Response Team work during emergencies.
• To take care of housekeeping of the plant.

Requirements:

• Min NITEC or Diploma in Chemical Engineering/ Chemical Process Technology / Engineering related
• Must be able to work on 12-hours rotating shifts
• Working hours : 8am to 8pm & 8pm to 8am
