Engineering Manager - Bukit Batok
The Engineering Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and operational efficiency of the company's fleet and equipment. This role involves leading a team of technicians and mechanics, optimizing workshop productivity, ensuring compliance with safety and industry standards, and managing costs effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Workshop & Fleet Management
Monitor spare parts inventory, procurement, and cost control.
- Team Leadership & Workforce Management
Address productivity issues, including inefficiencies and unnecessary overtime claims.
- Safety & Compliance
Ensure all repair and maintenance work is carried out in compliance with workplace safety regulations. Implement and enforce safety protocols and best practices within the workshop. Conduct periodic inspections and audits to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.
- Cost Management & Process Improvement
Control workshop expenses, including labor, spare parts, and consumables. Identify areas for productivity improvement and cost reduction. Implement structured workflow processes to prevent unproductive overtime and enhance efficiency. Work closely with other departments to align engineering support with operational needs.
- Reporting & Documentation
Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and service history. Generate reports on workshop productivity, expenses, and breakdown trends. Provide recommendations for upgrades, replacements, or new equipment acquisitions.
Job Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in equipment maintenance and repair, with at least 2–3 years in a managerial role.
- Hands-on experience with SANY cranes, heavy machinery, and transport fleet maintenance is a strong advantage.
- In-depth knowledge of SANY cranes, hydraulic systems, electrical diagnostics, and mechanical repairs.
- Experience in workshop management, scheduling, and workflow optimization.
- Ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex SANY equipment failures.
- Proficiency in using maintenance management software is an advantage.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Good communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions.
- Detail-oriented and organized with good time management skills.
- Willingness to be hands-on when needed.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to operational demands.
- Familiarity with workplace safety standards and compliance regulations.
