Site Engineer - Tanglin
We are a trusted sub-contractor in the construction industry, specialising in reinforced concrete structure works for major building and infrastructure projects. Our focus is on delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality structural solutions in collaboration with leading main contractors and we are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Site Engineer to join our growing team.
The Site Engineer is responsible for the technical, engineering, and coordination aspects of a construction project at the site level. The role ensures that works are executed in accordance with design drawings, specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements, while supporting the project team in planning, monitoring, and problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
- 1. Technical Supervision
- Interpret and implement construction drawings, specifications, and method statements
- Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with approved plans and standards
- Coordinate with subcontractors, supervisors, and workers to ensure proper execution of work
- Conduct site inspections and ensure corrective actions for any non-compliance
- 2. Project Coordination
- Assist in planning daily and weekly work schedules
- Liaise with the Project Manager, main contractor, consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth site progress
- Coordinate material deliveries and ensure resources are available on time
- Manage and update project documentation, such as site instructions, RFI (Request for Information), and variation orders
- Responsible for submission of progress reports
- Coordinate PE design reports
- Carry out site inspection prior with RTO/RE.
- 3. Quality Assurance
- Perform inspections of ongoing and completed works
- Maintain proper records of inspections, testing, and quality control activities
- Ensure that all construction activities meet the project’s quality benchmarks and regulatory requirements
- Support testing and commissioning processes if applicable
- 4. Safety & Compliance
- Enforce adherence to Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations
- Participate in toolbox meetings and ensure safe work practices on site
- Report and rectify unsafe conditions or practices immediately
- 5. Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain daily site records, progress reports, and photographs
- Submit work progress updates, material usage, and inspection reports
- Assist in preparing reports for main contractor, client, consultant, and management reviews
Minimum Requirements:
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, codes, and engineering principles
- Familiar with project management tools, Microsoft Office, and AutoCAD
- Ability to read and interpret all types of construction drawings, specifications, BBS, PE Design
- Good communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills
- Holds at least a valid MOM approved Building Construction Supervisors Safety Course (BCSS) certificate
- Holds a valid MOM approved Work At Height Supervisor Course/ Manage Work At Height (MWAH) certificate
