Scientific Infra & Private Assets Ltd (SIPA) is the corporate arm of the EDHEC Infrastructure & Private Assets Research Institute (EIRA) at EDHEC Business School, an ESMA-recognised index provider, specialised in providing market index, benchmarks and comparables to investors in private markets, including unlisted infrastructure equity, private infrastructure debt and private equity.SIPA provides bottom-up, asset-level metrics of the risk and performance of investments in unlisted companies and their debt, as well as advanced measures of the climate impacts and risks of infrastructure assets worldwide.
Today, users of SIPA data include major investors, asset managers and consultants and represent several hundred billion USD of assets under management (AUM). SIPA is based in Singapore and London.”
SIPA is looking for an analyst to help develop a database of infrastructure project financial statements under the supervision of the Institute’s Head of Data Collection. Additionally, as equity price analyst that collects and review market transactions for multiples
The position
This is an opportunity for candidate with a foundational understanding of accounting, finance or economics majors to foster an in-depth knowledge in infrastructure projects and private equity companies, along with the financial frameworks that underpin them.Starting with the detailed review of financial statements, this role involves conducting analysis on infrastructure projects and private equity companies, with a specific focus on reviewing and maintaining financial data within a database encompassing unlisted infrastructure and private equity assets.
The position also involves assisting in the development of sector-level revenue forecasting methodologies and contributing to universe reports that highlight the breadth and depth of market coverage.
Skills and Qualifications:
This is an opportunity for a candidate with:
- A preferred qualification is a Bachelor's degree or higher, with a major in accounting, finance, or economics.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is essential.
- While not mandatory, a professional background of 1-2 years is preferred.
- An understanding of financial accounts is desirable.
- Background or strong interest in financial research, quantitative analysis, and synthesizing data into meaningful insights.
- Willingness to work with automated tools and structured workflows to extract relevant information from identified input data in various forms and integrate it into system databases.
- Willingness to learn new tools such as Python and R, particularly for data analysis and data governance.
- Familiarity with working in a database environment or handling large, structured datasets is a plus.
- Exhibit exceptional written and verbal communication skills to foster productive collaboration with diverse internal stakeholders.
- Demonstrate proactive initiative, consistently delivering results within tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in a European language would be advantageous.
This is a full-time, on-going position.
