Your Mission
We seek a commercially driven, independent, and strategic professional to take ownership of market development in Japan for the FIRETEC business unit, while managing strategic international accounts in the Data Centre and Marine sectors across APAC.
This is a high-impact, newly created role reporting directly to the Regional Sales Manager – FIRETEC. You will be instrumental in building long-term market presence in Japan — a technically rigorous and relationship-driven environment — while driving growth through OEM partnerships and key account development.
What You’ll Be Doing
Japan Market Development – FIRETEC- Develop and execute a structured market entry and growth strategy for Japan
- Identify, engage, and build long-term relationships with Japan OEM partners (primary focus)
- Establish connections with Data Centre operators and industrial end-users
- Build and nurture relationships with engineering consultants and specification influencers (e.g., Arup and other regional consultancies)
- Monitor the competitive landscape and generate actionable market intelligence
- Navigate Japan's regulatory frameworks, including the Fire Service Act (FESC knowledge required)
- Represent the organization at industry exhibitions, technical seminars, and customer engagements in Japan
- Build a consistent and sustainable sales pipeline
- Manage assigned multinational and regional key accounts across:
- Data Centre sector
- Marine & Offshore sector
- Develop and execute structured account growth plans
- Strengthen long-term commercial partnerships
- Collaborate closely with internal technical and operational teams to ensure alignment and delivery
- Drive specification positioning and secure repeat business
- Engage OEMs and system integrators at early stages of project development
- Influence technical specifications through strong consultant relationships
- Lead commercial negotiations in both にほんご and English
- Support contract discussions and long-term framework agreements
- Develop structured business plans with clear, measurable milestones
- Maintain accurate pipeline forecasting
- Provide regular market analysis and competitor benchmarking
- Align Japan market strategy with broader regional objectives
- Certified in JLPT N1
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field (Engineering background)
- 5 years of experience in Business Development or Key Account Management
- Experience in fire suppression, industrial safety, or related technical industries preferred
- Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and relationship-building ability
- Experience working with OEMs and consultants preferred
- Familiarity with Japan's regulations such as the Fire Service Act (FESC) is required
- Willingness to travel across Japan and APAC
