Job Description:

The ideal candidate must be comfortable navigating the variable nature of event-based revenue cycles, project budgets, and seasonal cash flows.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Planning & Analysis

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and forecasts.
• Analyze financial performance and provide strategic recommendations to senior management.
• Track financial KPIs and profitability across departments and projects.

1. Budgeting & Cost Control

• Develop and monitor budgets for individual events, campaigns, and company overheads.
• Collaborate with project managers to ensure budgets are adhered to and project margins are protected.
• Perform variance analysis and identify areas for cost optimization.

1. Cash Flow & Working Capital Management

• Maintain healthy cash flow and manage accounts payable/receivable.
• Forecast short-term and long-term cash flow needs, especially around large-scale events or seasonal peaks.
• Optimize vendor payment terms and client invoicing cycles.

1. Accounting & Financial Operations

• Oversee daily accounting operations including general ledger, accounts receivable/payable, payroll, and tax submissions.
• Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing.
• Maintain proper documentation for all financial transactions and audits.

1. Compliance & Audit

• Ensure compliance with local financial regulations, tax laws, and statutory requirements.
• Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and regulatory bodies.
• Maintain internal controls and risk management practices.

1. Strategic Finance

• Support the company’s financial strategy, funding needs, and growth planning.
• Provide financial modeling for new business initiatives, partnerships, or expansion.
• Advise on pricing strategies and commercial viability of new services or projects.

Requirements:

• Prior experience in the events, media, creative, or project-based industries is a strong advantage.
• Strong understanding of project costing, P&L management, and revenue recognition in event/project-based environments.
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and dynamic business cycles.
