About the role

The Business Development Manager will play a pivotal role in driving business growth across Singapore and potential regional markets, serving as a key commercial leader for Applus+ Energy and Industry. This position requires a strategic thinker and relationship builder who can identify and capitalize on business opportunities within Singapore's vibrant energy and industrial sectors.
The successful candidate will be responsible for building and nurturing strategic relationships with key clients in the energy, oil and gas, petrochemical, manufacturing, and infrastructure sectors, while contributing significantly to revenue targets and market expansion objectives.

Answering to the Regional Head of Business Development and working collaboratively with our technical and operations teams, the BD Manager will ensure seamless alignment between client needs and service delivery. This role offers an exciting opportunity to identify and pursue emerging opportunities in Singapore's energy transition landscape, including renewable energy, hydrogen economy, and sustainable industrial practices, while leveraging Applus+'s global expertise and comprehensive service portfolio to deliver value to clients and drive business success.

Key responsibilities
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in Singapore's energy and industrial sectors, including oil and gas, power generation, renewable energy, petrochemicals, and manufacturing
  • Develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies aligned with company objectives and market dynamics
  • Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, client needs, and competitive positioning
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders, decision-makers, and influencers across target industries
  • Lead the development of compelling proposals, presentations, and commercial offerings that demonstrate value and differentiation
  • Manage the complete sales process from lead generation through contract negotiation and closure, ensuring achievement of revenue targets
  • Work cross-functionally with technical, operations, and delivery teams to ensure integrated solutions and seamless service delivery
  • Maintain accurate sales pipeline management, forecasting, and reporting using CRM systems
  • Build and nurture long-term relationships with existing and prospective clients, serving as a trusted advisor and strategic partner
  • Monitor and analyze market trends, regulatory changes, and industry developments affecting the energy and industrial sectors in Singapore
About you
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field
  • 10 years+ in business development, sales, or account management within energy, industrial, or technical services sectors
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets with demonstrated revenue growth
  • Experience in the Singapore market with strong understanding of regional business dynamics and cultural nuances
  • Knowledge of the energy sector, asset integrity management, and inspection services is essential
  • Strong commercial acumen with ability to identify opportunities and develop winning strategies
  • Excellent negotiation and closing skills with experience managing complex, high-value contracts
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills with ability to engage C-level executives
  • Proven relationship building capabilities with diverse stakeholders across technical and commercial functions
  • Proficiency in AI tools, CRM systems and sales management applications
