Reporting to the Director of Nursing, you will serve as the Head/Deputy head of Nursing for the Nursing home assigned.
You would be responsible for the day-to-day operations, improvements and enhancements of clinical nursing services so as to ensure that safe, high quality, efficient and cost effective care is delivered to residents and their families.
Main Responsibilities
Nursing Operations- Oversees and manage the assigned nursing home operations to ensure that the relevant nursing home’s philosophy, policies and objectives are reflected in the day-to-day care of each resident.
- Oversees the team of Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses, Nursing Aides and Healthcare Assistants.
- Oversees incident reporting activities including investigation, report writing and communicating response to the family members involved.
- Develop and implement strategies that will be effective during emergency situations
- Participate in budgetary planning for the centre and ensure there is effective implementation and optimal utilisation of budget.
- Ensures appropriate skills mix and adequate manpower resourcing for all shifts and types of services.
- Responsible for the compliance of all nursing standards as stipulated by Ministry of Health and Singapore Nursing Board.
- Leads quality assurance activities to monitor and evaluate the quality and appropriateness of nursing care.
- Promotes evidence-based practices or nursing care delivery.
- Ensure written policies and procedures and work process are available and up to date to guide the nursing care delivery.
- Ensures smooth transition of residents from acute to chronic care and back to the community, where possible.
- Directs care of the residents to ensure compliance to standards.
- Participate actively in discussions/communication with external agencies (e.g. AIC, MOH).
- Ensure there is effective stakeholder management with all groups of stakeholders (e.g., residents, their families, government agencies etc.).
- Partner the Operations Manager in the upkeep, security, maintenance of building, facilities and equipment.
- Directs and facilitates staff development, skills and competency upgrading through various opportunities such as formal education, in-house training, on-the-job training or approved online learning programmes.
- Work with closely with relevant department to develop the training needs and curriculum for the nursing team.
- At least 6 to 8 years of leadership role in health care setting.
- Recognised Degree or Advanced Diploma or Diploma in Nursing
- Must have a valid licence from SNB as RN
- Candidates who are less experienced may apply and be considered for the role of Assistant Nurse Manager.
