Job Summary
Lead the Company by managing daily operations, driving profitable project outcomes, and negotiating key business and financial terms. Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver vessels and optimize fleet value while mitigating risks.
Responsibilities- Manage daily operations of the Ship Business Department to ensure efficient and effective business performance
- Liaise with brokers, trading firms, operators, and shipyards to define vessel specifications and negotiate pricing that aligns with business objectives
- Analyze project profitability and feasibility to support strategic decision-making and maximize returns
- Collaborate with the technical department to review equipment and machinery requirements for vessel projects
- Negotiate financing terms with financiers, including loan prepayment and mortgage discharge agreements, to secure optimal funding conditions
- Prepare and present detailed proposals to top management for review and approval, driving informed leadership decisions
- Arrange payment schemes and oversee sea trials and vessel delivery to ensure compliance with contractual terms and quality standards
- Coordinate offers and inspections, negotiating price and Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) terms with buyers to finalize sales agreements
- Explain financial statements and company outlook to financiers, facilitating transparent communication and trust
- Negotiate financial conditions such as Loan-to-Value (LTV), Mark-to-Market (MTM), and financial covenants to optimize financial arrangements
- Assess refinancing needs and opportunities by researching financial markets and comparing current conditions
- Utilize free cash for foreign exchange (FX) forward contracts to reduce exposure to currency fluctuations
- Arrange fixed deposits (FD) to improve the company’s cash position and liquidity management
- Maintain and monitor fleet market value to inform strategic asset management decisions
- Study market trends by gathering and analyzing information from brokers and industry reports to anticipate market movements
- Bachelor’s degree in Maritime discipline preferred
- Minimum 10 years of leadership experience in shipping-related portfolios demonstrating operational excellence and team leadership
- Proven track record of achieving business targets and managing complex business issues with effective risk mitigation
- Strong interpersonal skills and high emotional intelligence to cultivate positive working relationships across all organizational levels
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage effectively with clients, employees, and senior management
